Most nationalities need a Tanzanian tourist visa (USD 50, or USD 100 for US passport holders). Apply online or obtain on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.
Comprehensive travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is mandatory. We recommend policies that cover camera gear and remote-area game drives. AMREF Flying Doctors air evacuation cover is included in all our safaris for peace of mind.
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if travelling from a country with yellow fever risk. Anti-malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended. Consult a travel clinic 6–8 weeks before departure for the latest advice.
A 30% deposit confirms your booking; the balance is due 45 days before arrival. We accept bank transfers and credit cards (3% processing fee on cards). Free rescheduling is available up to 30 days before departure.
Your private 4x4 is fitted with a pop-up roof, bean bags, camera mounts and charging ports. The vehicle is configured for just two to four photographers so everyone has window access and space to rotate angles.
June to October offers dry weather, thin grass and excellent Big Five visibility. December to February brings green-season light, calving activity and fewer vehicles. Both windows are outstanding for photography.
