Visa & Entry

Most nationalities need a Tanzanian tourist visa (USD 50, or USD 100 for US passports). Apply online or obtain on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical evacuation and trip cancellation is mandatory. AMREF Flying Doctors air evacuation cover is included in all our safaris for additional peace of mind.

Health & Vaccinations

Yellow fever certificate required if arriving from a country with yellow fever risk. Anti-malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended for safari destinations. Consult a travel clinic 6–8 weeks before departure.

Grumeti Season

The best time to visit the Western Corridor is May to July, when the Great Migration moves through the Grumeti River system. This is when crossings, predator action, and wildlife densities are at their peak.
