5-Day Fly-in Serengeti Migration Safari — Mara River Crossing

Today is dedicated to witnessing the Mara River crossing — the greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth. Start at sunrise when the light is golden and the animals are most active. Your guide will position you at the best crossing points along the river. Watch as thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather on the banks, building courage before making the perilous swim across. Nile crocodiles wait in the water while lions, hyenas, and cheetahs patrol the banks. Between crossings, explore the Northern Serengeti landscape — lions on kopjes, elephants in the Mara woodland, and very few other vehicles.

After a final morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti, searching for any last migration activity, begin your journey south through the Serengeti toward Central Serengeti. The landscape changes as you move south — rolling hills give way to endless golden plains. Enjoy game drives en route, spotting lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and more. Arrive at your luxury tented camp in Central Serengeti for dinner.

After breakfast, enjoy a transfer game drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater, with approximately 3 hours of wildlife viewing along the way. Around 10 am, descend 610 metres into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater shelters over 25,000 animals including the endangered black rhino, large lion prides, elephants, flamingos, and more than 500 bird species. Spend approximately 5 hours exploring the crater floor. After an unforgettable day, ascend the crater wall and drive to your lodge.

After breakfast, drive approximately 90 minutes to Tarangire National Park — famous for its large elephant herds and iconic ancient baobab trees. Explore the seasonal swamps, savannah landscapes, and the Tarangire River from your safari vehicle, spotting giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, and elephants. After your adventure, drive back to Arusha to conclude your safari. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or your hotel.
