3-Day Ruaha National Park Fly-In Safari from Zanzibar — Tanzania Largest Park

A sunrise game drive at first light offers the best opportunities for predator activity — lions, leopards, cheetahs, and wild dogs are most active in the cool early morning hours. The Great Ruaha River is a reliable focal point throughout the day, drawing elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of wildlife to drink. After returning to the lodge for lunch, an afternoon game drive explores the park more remote areas. An optional guided walking safari can be arranged in lieu of the afternoon vehicle drive, giving a ground-level experience of the bush and animal tracks.

After breakfast, a final morning game drive through the park — a last opportunity to encounter Ruaha wildlife before departure. Ruaha is Tanzania largest national park with over 20,000 square kilometres of wilderness. The park supports one of Africa largest elephant populations, significant lion populations, and all major predators including African wild dogs. Depending on the flight schedule, the game drive continues until mid-morning before transferring to the airstrip for the return flight to Zanzibar.
