Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Trek through lush montane rainforest on a winding trail. The path is steep but well-shaded, passing through dense vegetation and crossing streams. Reach Machame Camp in the cloud forest zone as the canopy thins and views open up.

Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Shorter trek through the moorland zone where giant heathers and groundsel trees replace the forest. The trail climbs steadily onto the Shira Plateau with expansive views toward Kibo. Arrive at Shira Camp for a relaxing afternoon.

Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Critical acclimatization day. Climb high to Lava Tower (4,630m) through alpine desert, then descend to Barranco Camp. This "climb high, sleep low" profile is key to summit success. Views of the Barranco Wall and Western Breach are spectacular.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Tackle the famous Barranco Wall — a fun, exposed scramble requiring hands-on climbing. No technical skills needed but it is exhilarating. After the wall, traverse to Karanga Camp with stunning views of the southern glaciers.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Final approach to summit base. The trail crosses barren alpine terrain with panoramic views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Reach Barafu Camp early, eat, hydrate, and rest before the midnight summit attempt.

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
SUMMIT DAY. Begin the midnight ascent via Stella Point (5,756m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the Roof of Africa! Watch sunrise over the clouds. Descend to Mweka Camp through scree and heath. The most challenging and rewarding day.

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Celebrate with your crew and receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to hotel in Moshi/Arusha. A triumphant finish to an incredible journey.
