Amazing 3 Days Tanzania Camping Safari – Explore Wildlife & Nature Up Close

After breakfast at your lodge in Arusha, your safari guide will meet you for a short briefing about the upcoming adventure. You will then start driving towards Tarangire National Park, passing through the heart of Arusha town for any last-minute supplies or purchases. Upon entering the park, the landscape changes to a mix of savannah and acacia woodland, dominated by the iconic Baobab trees. Tarangire is famous for its enormous elephant population, with over 3,000 elephants recorded in the park. The Tarangire River flows through the park and provides a permanent water source, attracting diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, and many rare antelope species such as Greater Kudu and Fringed-eared Oryx. After an exciting game drive exploring these beautiful plains, you will head to Migombani Public Campsite, located near Lake Manyara, to enjoy sunset views over the African bush. Dinner will be served at the campsite, followed by your first night sleeping under the stars in a comfortable canvas tent.

After a hearty breakfast at the campsite, the safari continues as you drive towards Ngorongoro Crater, passing through the scenic highlands of Karatu and the Great East African Rift Valley. Upon reaching the Ngorongoro Crater rim, you will stop to take stunning photos of the vast caldera before descending into the crater floor for a full day game drive. The crater is home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa and provides an exceptional opportunity to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, black rhinos, flamingos, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the crater while you continue exploring its unique ecosystem. In the late afternoon, you will drive back up to the crater rim and make a scenic stop at the Lake Manyara viewpoint to capture breathtaking views over the forested valley. The day ends back at Migombani Public Campsite, where dinner and overnight camping await.

On the final day of your 3 Days Tanzania Camping Safari, you will have an early breakfast before driving into Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. This park is a gem with a variety of habitats, including dense forests, alkaline lakes, and lush grasslands. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, as well as elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and a massive variety of birds including flamingos that feed on the shallow soda lake. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park while spotting more wildlife before beginning the drive back to Arusha in the late afternoon. On the way, you may choose to visit Maasai markets at Mto wa Mbu to experience local culture and shop for souvenirs. Depending on your schedule, you will be dropped at your hotel or the airport for your departure, bringing your short but incredible Tanzanian camping adventure to an end.
