After about 4–5 hours of steady ascent, you reach Stella Point (5,739m / 18,829ft) on the crater rim, just in time to witness the first golden rays of sunrise breaking over the horizon, illuminating glaciers, volcanic formations, and the vast African landscape below.

From Stella Point, you continue for about one more hour along the crater rim to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,340ft), the highest point in Africa.
