Your adventure begins early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. You will drive for about one hour from Moshi (or about two hours from Arusha) to Marangu Gate, the main entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park.

After arrival, you will complete park registration and meet your professional mountain guide. The hike then begins through the beautiful rainforest of Mount Kilimanjaro. This area is home to many birds and animals including the playful Colobus monkeys and blue monkeys that are often seen in the trees.

The trail gently climbs through the forest, offering a peaceful and scenic hiking experience. Along the way, your guide will explain the unique plants, trees, and wildlife found on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro.

After approximately 3 to 4 hours of hiking, you will arrive at Mandara Hut (2,720 meters above sea level). Here you will take a break and enjoy your packed lunch while surrounded by the quiet mountain forest.

If time and energy allow, you can take a short 15-minute walk to Maundi Crater, a small volcanic crater that offers spectacular views of the Kenyan plains and the surrounding landscape.

After lunch and a short rest, you will begin the descent back to Marangu Gate, which usually takes about 2 to 3 hours. Your driver will be waiting at the gate to transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.

You will arrive in the late afternoon with unforgettable memories of hiking on the legendary Mount Kilimanjaro.
