Trip Overview

The 7 Days Tanzania Wildlife Photography Tour is designed for photographers of all levels who want to capture stunning wildlife moments in Tanzania’s most iconic national parks. This trip focuses on slow travel, giving you enough time at each sighting to wait for the perfect light, angle, and behavior.

You will visit Tarangire National Park, famous for elephants and baobab trees, Serengeti National Park, home to predators and the Great Migration, and the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the best places in the world to capture black rhinos, lions, and stunning landscapes.

Your photography guide helps with tracking animals, choosing the best shooting positions, and adjusting your day when special sightings appear. The program is flexible for sunrise shoots, golden-hour drives, and night-sky photography at lodges.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Photography Briefing, Serval Wildlife Visit & Sunset Shoot

You arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your professional photography guide warmly welcomes you. As you drive toward Arusha, the journey already offers great photographic opportunities—local street life, market scenes, open landscapes, and sometimes even a clear view of Mount Meru standing quietly in the distance.

If you arrive early, your adventure begins immediately. You will head straight to Serval Wildlife, a beautiful private sanctuary perfect for controlled wildlife photography. Here you can practice close-up shots of animals such as giraffes, zebras, elands, and playful primates. The soft natural light and open landscapes allow you to experiment with portrait-style wildlife photography, motion shots, and background blur techniques.

Later in the afternoon, you check in at your lodge in Arusha. After a short rest, your photography guide leads a detailed photography briefing

Day 2: Arusha → Tarangire National Park – Elephants & Baobab Landscapes

After breakfast, you drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its huge elephant herds. This park is perfect for close-up portrait shots, family behavior photos, and dust background compositions.
Your guide takes you to hidden valleys where predators such as lions and leopards sometimes rest under shade.
During the afternoon, you photograph large baobab trees against the golden sky and elephants crossing the river.
Sunset shooting gives you warm, glowing light on herds heading to water sources.
Overnight near Tarangire.

Day 3: Tarangire → Serengeti Central – Predator Action & Open Plains

Today you travel to the world-famous Serengeti, stopping for photography whenever you see interesting wildlife.
Upon entering Serengeti, the open plains allow dramatic wide-angle shots: giraffes walking in golden grass, cheetahs scanning the horizon, and thousands of zebras grazing.
Your afternoon focuses on predator tracking, especially lions and cheetahs, perfect for action shots such as hunting, yawning, or playing cubs.
As the sun sets, enjoy a peaceful blue-hour photography session with silhouettes and star preparations.
Overnight in Serengeti.

Day 4 – Full Day in Serengeti – Big Cats & Action Moments

This is your first full photography day in Serengeti. Leave early to capture sunrise colors, when lions and cheetahs are most active. Throughout the day, you will track predators, look for hunts, follow migrating herds, and photograph hippos, elephants, and birds.

Your guide helps you create storytelling photo sequences, including tracking shots, portraits, and environmental compositions.

Expect many hours in the field—this day is built for professionals who need time, patience, and the right positioning.

In the afternoon, you search for golden-hour shots, where soft light enhances color contrast and depth.
