Do You Need a Visa to Enter Tanzania?

1. eVisa (Online Visa) – Recommended

Tanzania offers an official online visa portal that’s fast and convenient:

  • Apply at: https://visa.immigration.go.tz
  • Fill out the form, upload your passport, and pay online
  • Visa approval usually takes 7–10 working days
  • Print your approval and present it upon arrival
2. Visa on Arrival

You can get a visa at major entry points such as:

  • Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
  • Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR)
  • Zanzibar International Airport
    Note: Visa on arrival may involve long queues and wait times.
3. Embassy Visa

You can apply in advance at your nearest Tanzanian embassy or consulate, especially if you’re from a country that is not eligible for eVisa or visa on arrival.
