Chemka Hot Springs, also known as Kikuletwa, is a hidden paradise located about 1.5 hours from Moshi town. Surrounded by lush trees and palm shades, these warm, crystal-clear natural pools are perfect for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying a peaceful escape from the city.
This day trip is ideal for anyone looking to enjoy nature, meet local people, and experience a unique part of Tanzania. You’ll enjoy a scenic drive through Maasai villages and open landscapes before arriving at the springs. Once there, you can swim in the clean warm water, swing into the pool from ropes, and enjoy a local lunch or snacks.
It’s a favorite spot for both locals and travelers – peaceful, refreshing, and beautiful.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha around 9:00 AM. The drive to Chemka Hot Springs takes about 1.5 hours, passing through local villages and open fields. It’s a perfect time to enjoy the scenery and take photos.
Arrive at the Hot Springs around 10:30 AM. You’ll have plenty of time to swim, relax under the trees, and enjoy the peaceful environment. You can also swing into the water, take photos, or just float and relax.
Enjoy a local lunch (vegetarian options available) and cold drinks. After lunch, more free time to swim or walk around. You’ll leave Chemka around 3:30 PM and arrive back at your hotel by late afternoon.
