5 Days Serengeti Safari – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Central Serengeti – Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari begins with a morning drive from Arusha toward Serengeti National Park. On the way, you will enjoy beautiful views of the Great Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands, and Maasai villages.

Upon entering Serengeti, your first game drive begins immediately. This region, known as the Seronera Valley, is rich with lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many more animals.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti – Explore the Seronera Valley

Today is a full wildlife day! After breakfast, you head out for a full-day game drive across the endless golden plains of Serengeti.

Your guide will take you to prime areas for predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, gazelle, and many more.

Day 3: Northern or Southern Serengeti (Depending on Season) – Follow the Great Migration

Today you will explore either Northern Serengeti (July–October for river crossings) or Southern Serengeti (December–March for the calving season). Your guide will take you to areas with the highest chances of seeing the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras move through the park.

Day 5: Serengeti Sunrise Game Drive – Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This final day takes you to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, often called “Africa’s Eden.” The crater is home to over 25,000 animals, including rhinos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and flamingos.

Your guide will descend into the crater for a half-day game drive, giving you the best opportunity to spot the Big Five in one place.

After lunch at the hippo pool picnic site, you will drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
