At Bush Lion Tours, we require all climbers to have valid travel insurance. This is crucial to protect your investment against unexpected circumstances such as trip cancellations, interruptions, delays, and unforeseen expenses.
Why Travel Insurance is Important
Your insurance must cover high-altitude trekking up to 6,000 meters (20,000 feet) above sea level. This is essential to qualify for rescue services by Kili MedAir Aviation and AMREF Flying Doctors, which provide medical support and helicopter evacuations. Without proper insurance, you will not be allowed to climb.
The insurance should protect you against:
- Trip cancellations and interruptions due to emergencies like sickness or injuries.
- Medical expenses, evacuation, and repatriation.
- Lost, stolen, or delayed baggage.
- Travel delays, missed connections, and unforeseen weather disruptions.
When to Purchase Travel Insurance
We strongly advise obtaining travel insurance immediately after booking your trip. For coverage of pre-existing conditions, some providers require insurance to be purchased within 15 days of booking. Proof of valid travel insurance must be presented upon request by our staff.
