Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 0: Arrival In Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Meet and greet with your local guide and transfer to your accommodation in Arusha town. Check in, relax, and rest to recover from your journey.
Optional: If time permits and you’re not too tired, explore the vibrant local markets or take a short city tour in Arusha.
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Start your adventure early in the morning from Arusha, heading towards Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, embark on a game drive through the park, renowned for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Spot diverse wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated spot within the park, taking in the scenic surroundings. Continue the game drive in the afternoon, exploring different areas of the park. As the sun begins to set, make your way to a nearby Motto Cottages Lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight stay, experiencing the authentic safari atmosphere.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive to the world-famous Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, you may encounter Maasai villages and vast plains teeming with wildlife. Arrive in the Serengeti in time for an afternoon game drive. Witness the park’s incredible biodiversity, including the Big Five and the annual migration of wildebeest and zebras, depending on the season. Overnight in a lodge or tented camp in the heart of the Serengeti.
Days 3 & 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Spend the next two days exploring the Serengeti’s incredible variety of mammals, birds, and reptiles, along with its breathtaking scenery and sunsets. You’ll have ample opportunities to witness the wildebeest migration, a spectacular sight as thousands of animals move across the plains. Each evening, you will return to your tented camp/lodge to enjoy a hot meal with fellow campers.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater and Departure
Depart early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife areas. Descend into the crater for a game drive on the crater floor, where you can spot a diverse array of animals, including the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool before ascending the crater walls. In the afternoon, begin your journey back to Arusha, where your unforgettable safari adventure concludes. If time permits, explore the vibrant markets and local culture of Arusha before your departure.
