Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 0: Arrival In Arusha
Upon your arrival at the airport, a representative from Bush Lion Tours will greet you and arrange your transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Later, you will join your group for dinner and receive a briefing on the upcoming trek. An equipment check will follow to ensure you have all the necessary mountain gear. If you are missing any equipment, we can assist in organizing rentals for you.

Day 1: Momella Gate (1500m) to Miriakamba Hut (2500m)
Start your 4 days Mount Meru trek with a hearty breakfast before being picked up at 8:00 am and transferred to Momella Gate. During the drive, you’ll pass through Moshi and Arusha. Upon arrival, Nafika Tours will handle all pre-hike formalities. Accompanied by an armed ranger, we begin our hike to Miriakamba Hut, encountering wildlife such as giraffes, warthogs, buffalos, bushbucks, and numerous bird species. Dinner and your first night on the mountain await at Miriakamba Hut (2500m).

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut (2500m) to Saddle Hut (3500m)
Departing around 08:00 am, our second day of the 4 days Mount Meru trek takes us to Saddle Hut. The steep path along the ridge offers breathtaking views of the Meru crater, the ash cone, and Little Meru. Witness diverse wildlife and vibrant flowers as we ascend. After arriving at Saddle Hut, enjoy a hot lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, we’ll hike towards Little Meru for acclimatization before returning to Saddle Hut for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Saddle Hut (3500m) to Summit (4566m) then down to Miriakamba Hut (2500m)
The third day of our 4 days Mount Meru trek begins at midnight with light tea and breakfast. After final preparations, we embark on a steep climb to Rhino Point (3800m) and continue to Cobra Point (4350m). Reaching the summit of Meru (4566m) at sunrise provides stunning views of Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. Capture unforgettable photos before descending to Saddle Hut for a hot lunch and a brief rest. We then continue down to Miriakamba Hut (2500m) for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut (2500m) to Momella Gate (1500m)
The final day of your 4 days Mount Meru trek features a descent through the tropical rainforest, teeming with wildlife. The 5-hour trek ends at Momella Gate, where you’ll sign out and receive your certificate. A private vehicle will transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi for a warm shower and a celebratory dinner.
