Arrive in Tanzania
Upon your arrival in Arusha, you will be met by our team and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to relax and prepare for your adventure ahead. Our guide will brief you about the climb and ensure you are well-prepared. Overnight at the hotel in Arusha.
Day 1: Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut
Your adventure begins with a morning drive from Arusha to Momella Gate (1,500 meters). After registration and a briefing by your professional guide, the trek starts through lush rainforest teeming with wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for giraffes, antelopes, and colobus monkeys along the way.
The trail gradually ascends through grasslands and dense forest, offering picturesque views of the park’s landscapes. As you trek higher, the forest clears, revealing the magnificent Ash Cone. Arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters) in the late afternoon, where you will enjoy a hearty dinner and spend the night in comfortable huts.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut – Little Meru
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise and a hot breakfast before starting the climb towards Saddle Hut (3,570 meters). The trail passes through lush heather and moorland zones, with the landscape becoming more open and rugged. You will reach Saddle Hut by midday, where lunch will be served.
In the afternoon, there’s an optional short hike to Little Meru (3,820 meters) to help with acclimatization. The trek offers stunning panoramic views of the crater and the summit ahead. Return to Saddle Hut for an early dinner and rest, as the summit climb begins before dawn.

Day 3: Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak – Momella Gate – Arusha
The summit attempt starts around midnight. Equipped with headlamps, you’ll hike through the rocky ridge to Socialist Peak (4,566 meters). The final section is challenging but rewarding as you witness the sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro and the stunning views of the Crater Rim and the Great Rift Valley.
After celebrating your success at the summit, you’ll begin the descent back to Saddle Hut for breakfast. After a short rest, continue the descent to Momella Gate, where you’ll receive your certificate of achievement. Transfer back to Arusha for a well-deserved rest.

Departure Day
After a good rest in Arusha, it’s time to say goodbye. Our team will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey or continue with your next adventure in Tanzania.
