Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 0: Arrival In Arusha
Upon your arrival at the airport, a representative from Bush Lion Tours will greet you and arrange your transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Later, you will join your group for dinner and receive a briefing on the upcoming trek. An equipment check will follow to ensure you have all the necessary mountain gear. If you are missing any equipment, we can assist in organizing rentals for you.

Day 1: Momella Gate (1500m) to Miriakamba Hut (2500m)a
Your 3 days Mount Meru trek begins after breakfast with a pickup from your hotel around 8:00 a.m. You will be transferred to Momella Gate, passing through the vibrant towns of Moshi and Arusha. Upon arrival at Momella Gate, Bush Lion Tours will handle all pre-hike formalities. Accompanied by an armed ranger, you will start the hike to Miriakamba Hut. Along the way, you’ll encounter a variety of animals such as giraffes, warthogs, buffalos, bushbucks, and many species of birds. At Miriakamba Hut (2500m), enjoy a delicious dinner and your first night on the mountain.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut (2500m) to Saddle Hut (3500m)
The second day of your 3 days Mount Meru trek starts around 08:00 a.m. with a hike to Saddle Hut. You’ll traverse a steep path along the ridge of the saddle, offering stunning views of the Meru crater, ash cone, and Little Meru. Along the way, you’ll continue to witness the rich wildlife and vibrant flowers of the forest. Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, you’ll have a hot lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, an acclimatization hike to Little Meru awaits, followed by a return to Saddle Hut for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Saddle Hut (3500m) to Summit (4566m) down to Miriakamba (2500m) then Momella Gate (1500m)
Your final day on the 3 days Mount Meru trek starts at midnight with a light tea and breakfast. After final preparations, the steep climb to Rhino Point (3800m) begins, followed by a push to Cobra Point (4350m). As the sun rises, you will reach the summit of Mount Meru (4566m), offering an awe-inspiring view of Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. After capturing some breathtaking photos, you’ll descend to Saddle Hut for a hot lunch and a short rest before continuing down to Miriakamba and then to Momella Gate. At the gate, you’ll sign out and drive back to your hotel, concluding your incredible 3 days Mount Meru trek.
